New album Foregone out February 2023

Yeah I just saw that on Instagram, someone said he got the album but wont be leaking it. Im pretty sure It’ll be leaking soon.

Little to do with my reply to ciko. The previous album was leaked on February the 27 and released on March the 1. Now, this album is going to be released on February the 10th. So we didn't have a very early leak.
A leak right now would be 4 weaks before its release. I think that we have not had something like that since, probably, R2R.
and I also doubt what anyone says about having the album unless they show evidence of that.

I remember a lot of leaking with Sc and Battles.
And they have evidence on reddit, some other guys said they got it as well
I remember last album songs were being leaked. I was able to get I am above a month before it was released, due to an Amazon music mishap. They accidentally placed it up for purchase for a few hours and i snagged it
Yeah, I also remember Everything's Gone, SC, Through My Eyes leaked before they were released as well.
well aware it’s not the album lol. But still had songs released well before promos on social media and their “release dates”
The songs were released, were available to download or buy, after they became singles. Maybe, any of them, a couple of days before of their official release because someone messed it up and was released, by mistake, before its due date. But, a mistake is just that, not a rule. The same way that some people are receiving the new album one month prior to its release.
What would be a real leak was a song that had been leaked but was never a single. Otherwise it's not a real leak.
The fact that people is not aware that the songs can be bought as long as they are being released a singles doesn't magically turn them into leaks. It's just people not knowing or caring about this.
Right now, anyone can buy all of the singles that have been released so far at the Amazon store.

"So, the singles are, for the most part, the heaviest parts of the album. There's some other heavy stuff scattered about, but don't go in expecting a full album of that. It strikes a better balance between heavy and poppy than I, the Mask imo, but it's also not gonna surprise you if you've heard the last few albums. But there's definitely some higher highs on here than there have been in a while, and I think it has room to grow on me yet too."

Question: Are the songs that have been release a good indication of the albums sound overall? Foregone Pt 1 and 2, The Great Deceiver and State of Slow Decay
Answer: I'd say so, but it's definitely leaning towards more Foregone pt 2. Definitely sounds like they put out all the heaviest songs ahead of time. I've only spun it once, I'll pay more attention when I listen again

Listening to Dimmu Borgir's remixed/remastered version of Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia at the moment. Quite amazing when bands manage to make albums that are 20 years old sound worse. Some metal bands just don't get that part of the reason people like this music is because of the imperfections and the grittiness. By cleaning everything up the power of the music just drains away.
Lmao, what's even going on with the new one. Why is the sound shittier? Why does the voice sound so nasally and lame? Reminds me of the Clayman remasters. Sometimes it's better to just leave the good stuff alone.

Not the kind of impressions I was hoping for, but I guess a clean break from the Battles/ITM sound was a tall order. ITM did have some good songs, so I'm hoping that the more pop tracks on Foregone bear more resemblance to songs like Voices or the title track rather than shit like We Will Remember.

Song like that are my biggest gripe. I know people get hung up on The Truths and Houses, but I get those songs and for better or worse, plus with varying results, they are different.
But songs like We Will Remember, In This Life or Underneath My Skin are like wtf. They are nothing songs, B-sides at best. Meanwhile they put some of the best songs on SC as bonus tracks, and two passable songs on Battles, which would've been miles better than Underneath.
