I recently acquired a Soldano Avenger from a member at the Rig Talk forums. This particular Avenger is special as it has an output transformer intended for the Soldano SLO. These particular transformers are made by Deyoung MFG and are way more $$$ than the original transformers that Soldano uses.
Basically it brings it even closer to the sound of the SLO. Apparently the Avenger has the same circuit, yet uses different grade components and transformers.
This particular amp has been passed around quite a few times by some buddies of mine at Rig Talk, but it really is in mint condition. SLO circuit + Deyoung transformer = sick sounding amp.
This is the perfect "Marshally" tone for me. Modern low end, perfect compression (can get some good chunk without a tubescreamer, moreso than other amps I've had), perfect amount of gain, yet still retains the classic Marshally sound, just on steroids.
I'm still getting to know the amp, but will post clips when I have a free house and can crank her!
Marcus, you need to bring the Recto cab up here one day and try this beast.
