new Amplitube "Metal" announced

Well now that it's been out nearly a month, what do you think of it? I like it although it can get muddy and fizzy like amplitube2. But with impulses and some post eqing, I can get a sound I like. Right now I like it about the same as revalver3. ANyone have any tone samples?

I tried it, and it's good, but now that I have my ENGL e530 I'm bored with software preamp simulation. Happier by far using the ENGL + impulses!

What's the best way to run through an Impulse while using Amplitube Metal?

bypass the cab section of amplitube metal and then load revalver 2 or 3 and just use the impulse cab loader. If you don't have revalver then voxengo boogex or some convolution reverb plugin like waves IR.

I'm using Altiverb 6 to do all my impulse stuff. It's great and very CPU efficient. I plan to make some more cab impulses soon using it as well.

Doesn't an impulse also model the power amp though? If so, that's putting 2 different power amps in your tone, unless you bypass the power amp in AmpliTube as well. I assume we can leave the EQ model on

It depends on how the impulse was made. You can either include or omit the power amp from the impulse response by recording the impulse differently (through a power amp, or just directly).

How would one go about making an impulse of a cabinet without a power amp? What would be driving the speakers?

Don't ask me All I know is that there are two ways to make cabinet impulses - with and without the power amp being included in the impulse.
