New clip from me

Eh, sì Maurizio! Non compare l'MP3 cliccando sul link!!!

(translation for the non italian speaking: 'the link isn't working! the mp3 doesn't show.) :yell:

I haven't a digital photocamera so I can't take a picture of how I miced
my amp, a 5150 (MK1 with Eddi Sign) and the cab is a marshall 1960 lead
but I did take care about Andy's settings on the amp
(they're just a little bit different from the ones of andy)

so here's the settings:

rhythm pre gain: 8
crunch and brigth switched on
low: 7
mid: 0
high: 5
resonance: 10 (7 if you use a cab with V30, 1960 lacks of low ends)
presence: 7
And super trick: post gain(master) on 1, I had to play at a low volume
'cause I tracked at home, 5150 sounds good even at low volumes!!

A sm57 on the upper right cone (on axis), in the centre of it, just 3-4 cm away from the centre, rolled off from 60hz and below and compressed with c4 andy's settings .

Drums recorded with a cheap Shure drumkit set: PGDMK6
snare and kick replaced with samples.
bass with a sm57 (ok it's not made for bass guitar, but it worked good).
vocals SM58
all in protools digi002 (drum mics in Presonus lt max in digi002 via adat lightpipe)
that's all
Maurizio

edit:
I forgot this: tube screamer Maxon OD9 in front of the amp.
Settings for ts are:
drive 9 o'clock
tone 10 o'clock
level 12 o'clock

I think that's pretty great for something tracked at home, man. Like the others have said though, maybe bring the vox down a few dB and see if you can get the guitars to cut through a little more. The 5150 is too damned good of a head to get drowned out by other elements in a mix, it doesn't deserve it, hehe.

The voice problem it's an odd thing that happens a lot in Italian productions.

We have been RUINED in our childhood by the dreadful Italian Melodic Songs that are sang in Festival di Sanremo.

Consciously or not the problem ALWAYS resurface periodically, and the voice in the mix goes over the top.

By the way, Maurizio, the track sounds amazing and although the almost all-growl vocals are not my favourite singing style It's a well done job!!!

Some imprecision by the drummer but not too bad to go and redo the entire track.

Long live Bareggio! Still better than Cornaredo. (sorry, inside joke that nobody will ever get... )

Yes that's true, SanScemo has ruined us!

Yes that's true, specially with double bass drum, I didn't want to use beat-detective cause
it's really difficult to get something good to me with that tool most of the times

No no I lived all of my childhood in Cornaredo and to me it's still far way better than Bareggio where I live now :tickled:
Bareggio is like a dormitory I really don't like it, when I go 'round hanging out with the boys of my band, I go to Milan and drink some beer at ratera
the best pub in the world ehheehhe!!!
