I'm building a DAW from scratch... I'm switch from Mac/Logic to Native/cubase

Here's the computer i'm looking at pulling the trigger on:

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3R HE103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

COOLER MASTER Silent Pro M700 RS-700-AMBA-D3 700W ATX12V V2.3 SLI Certified CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Modular ...

Logitech 920-000914 Black USB Wired Ultra-thin Illuminated Keyboard

Logitech MX 518 8 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical Gaming Mouse

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM

CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B

Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor BX80623I72600K

ASUS SABERTOOTH P67 (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Full

PNY VCQ295NVS-X16-DVI-PB Quadro NVS 295 256MB 64-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Intel X25-M SSDSA2MH080G2K5 2.5" 80GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Acer S211HLbd 21.5'' 5ms LED-Backlight LCD Monitor Slim Design

LIAN LI Black Aluminum PC-C33B ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

DAW Software:

Going from Logic Studio to Cubase 6

Sample soft:
going from garritan to Kontakt 4 (full)

Adding REfx Vangaurd

Going from EZ drummer/Super drummer to kontakt 4/Slate EX/all sturgis samples

going Pod Farm 2 to pod farm platinum or Amplitube Metal + custom shop add-ons...

adding Waves SSL

Has anyone else made the switch... if so what are your thoughts?

Subtotal: $349.98

???
:guh:

The first subtotal is 1800 and the second is 349 it has to do with new egg shipping everything but the case and monitor in one batch and the case and monitor in the second batch (349.98) so the subtotal for the case and monitor before shipping and taxes is 349:98... make sense... ???

The grand subtotal is 2205 and change I think with taxes + shiping rounding it to 2478 and change if I'm not mistaken

WTF is going on in this thread? I am so lost, are we talking about getting a new DAW like the title? or building a new comp like the thread?

plus a motherfucking one.
I actually thought you were going to program a new DAW haha
but instead you're just going for a studio comp.
I have to say, cakewalk studio comps are pretty cheap and do the trick, really worth the check (but you'll have to look pretty good cuz it took me a while to find them on their site)

thanks but no thanks... they dont sell their own computer they just act as a third party vendor other companies... plus I think it's fun building your own computer... builds character and allows you to see what all goes inside while learning how take the pacifier out of your mouth...

I've already looked at all these vendors and for what they're charging you to build the above comp you can probably build a comp like joey's with parts from New Egg... but again thanks...

i use Presonus Studio One Pro. its designed by Steinberg (cubase/nuendo) but also has some of the same features of pro tools hd. you should check it out! i liked it enough to quit using Nuendo. they have a bunch of vids on you tube. you should watch them

EVERYTHING! mostly how easy it is to edit and mix being that all onboard vst have built in spectrum meters so its extremely easy to see how your controlling or crushing your freq.
