www.myspace.com/seven40studios i have the track available for download for you guys to check it out its called molotov cocktease by nova prospect from steubenville ohio and let me know what you think

we are starting to record the album in the fall i cant wait its for sure gonna be put out by a decent label just not sure which one yet i will keep you guys updated

I hardly hear the bass.

Kick sounds way too clicky.

Snare could have more crack.

Guitars sound sterile as fuck. They lack of attack and edge and tightness. They just sound fat, sludgy and loose. If it was on purpose it's ok. If you aim for ASP/TBDM tone they have a way tighter/edgier tone.

The lead sound has too much effect on it (feedback/reverb/delay whatever).

Music sounds like you like TDBM/ASP.

i put a updated version on the page

btw there drummer is only 16 one of the best drummers i have ever seen and expect amazing things from this kid the next adam d

i think the guitars sound alot better now

we didnt put much time into the tones since its only proproduction just there live tones... shecter hellraiser emg 81's esp ltd emg 81's boss noise gate 5150s block face right and a 5150 left 2tracks of each w/ 482 sonic maximizer/ rocktron hush to a peavey valveking cabinet 57 into x73 and a little eq and the solos are the same

i would have reamped and got a better tone any other time but there was no need were starting the album in oct and using a bunch of different amp guitar cab combos just kinda mapping things out

appreciate any input

Seems to sound better.

Though i think you should remove the "482 sonic maximizer" from the signal chain, and maybe try to mic on a better cab than the peavey valveking one.

Then on the 5150 settings: less gain, more mids.

What kind of eq did you do on the guitars ?

waves veq4 was the eq... i forget the boost points prob 80-100 400-600 1500-2500 4500-6500 10k i usually sweep a range till i get the sound im looking for i go off of feel and the ns10s and dont really look at numbers

im not a fan of recording the 482 or any exciter for that matter i don't plan on recording one unless i have to and this case just happened to be that one the valve-king cabs in the drum room and a 57 sound like complete boxy cardboard ass and it helped but made the lower/middle mids a little hazy worked for what it was needed for at the time this was the 5 min set the cab up and press record deal turned out ok for the circumstances

we will use as far as cabs are concerned a vadar, 1960a v 30's,boogie 4x12 and peavy 6505 cabs with 5150's or 6505's and a framus w/ tubescreamer or maxon od will be used on the album

just used what was set up in the amp room at the time we got a few days planned to search for he perfect album tones with our own little amp farm
