As talked about in the 'liars among us' wavs thread, id like to maybe get something going with some forum members. Something for fun and something that kicks some ass.

DigitalDeath- Offered to play some drums.
PostMortem1666- offered to play some gtr.

is anyone interested in contributing something? i really think it would be fun!

I could contribute some guitar or non-clean vocals. Or bass.

I'd definitely be better for only a small amount of work.

If anyone has any interest and $20, I use TabIt for all my songwriting.

It's a program that lets you tab out songs on barlines for 6- and 7-string guitar, and 4- and 5-string bass. There's also a 6-string drum preset too. It plays back the tabs, up to 15 tracks, with MIDI. You can set the MIDI instruments to anything you want.

I use it to write songs completely, and then when I'm done, I translate the TabIt drums to Cubase (usually by hand, although MIDI export is a viable option, it's just too quantized). Then, I have a full tab of guitar and bass of how the song can be structured.

If other people bought it, we could all write and share the .tbt files, which are, at most, 10kb. It's great for collaborations.

At the same time, Guitar Pro will do the same thing for you, but I don't have it so I don't care about it.

I have a hard time trying to think of myself writing a song with a tab prog like that. I usually write with guitar in hand and Sonar running to capture what im doing.

Ok, well i guess the best way is to start with riff ideas. Come up with a riff and either email it to me or post it here. keithreyn@email.com btw.
Ill come up with a riff to and can do the same. we can swap files and write it that way. that way we reallly will be writing it together and everyone will be involved. once we have a full song, we'll start tracking it in the same kind of fashion. If there is an easier way we can certainly do that.

DigitalDeath- are you still good for the drums?

This is gonna kick ass.

Oh, and once the song is tracked and complete, the session files can be posted so people can have some fun and we can get some different mixes!
