Hi,
Today I made a small test on my newly arrived framus dragon cab (not slanted).
I used my Mesa Roadster on this one.
I also used the ringy pingy joey jordison snare samples posted here.
I used DFH2 on the rest of the drums and drumagog to replace the snare.
After a while I figured out the snare of the 'overhead' (or ambient?) layers in drumkit from hell came out alot so my mix was screwed up again... ending up with this crappy sound... well it's not bad maybe but definately not good either imo! I also experimented using C1 compression, L2,
L3 multimax and a few others. What I really hate about my mixes is that it sounds so empty and not in the face...
Anyway I should try to record a FULL demo song and mix it as good as possible, see what it will end up because this small little tests are stupid anyway...
Any advice is always welcome ofcourse!

And by the way, how much time do you spend on a whole mix? For example how much time do you take for a snare? I spend hours and then compare it to what I made before and sometimes it sounds even shittier... lol
