I hate to be the one to make waves, but I gotta be honest, I'm really not feelin' the guitars - they sound very scooped, thin, and harsh to me and I have a hard time hearing much pitch on the lower notes. Also, the whole mix in general feels kinda thin and ear fatiguing; probably cuz I can't hear any bass (is there even any?), and I might suggest taming the attack just a bit on the kicks, it's a bit much IMO. Pretty sweet music though dude, I dig the riffs, and bitchin' solos as well (though the second, starting at 2:50, was a bit atonal for my tastes, I guess that's thrash for ya ;)). Good job overall dude!

This may be a silly question, but how exactly do you replace the samples in DFHS? I've tried with drumagog and SD 2.0 and failed :-(

Lol strange, I thought they were everything but scooped and not harsh but fair enough. The bass is quite loud actually, maybe it sits in a bit too much, I took down the 4-5k attack on the Slate kick so there is actually less than the sample originally as far as I remember. Haha the 2:50 bit is the "Loomis bit"! Easily sorted!

The final version will be finished shortly, comments taken on board as always! Thanks guys!

Yeah I just Drumagog'd the kick and snare.

Actually on second listen, I think the rhythms are a bit too much automated/lowered when the solo kicks in. Maybe 1-2db louder? Just a matter of taste I guess...

A friend of mine said the same thing when it was 2db drop so I knocked it down so less than a db however, I did raise the guitars a touch so ive missed that! Gonna sort that :kickass:

Ive added a "tweaked" version to the first post, have a listen and tell what if it takes your fancy a bit more. Brought the bass up a bit more and tamed the guitars a touch, hopefully adding a bit more beef.

I really don't/didnt want to do alot too it because knowing me id just fuck everything up so ive been subtle yet there is def more lowend in the tweaked version. Im skeptical about adding anymore/bringing the bass up futher as it starts to mask the guitars.

Anyway cool, see what you think!

Cheeeers peeps!

Aaahhhhhhhhhhh, SOOO much easier on the ears with the guitars and kick attack tamed! I think the kick is PERFECT now, though I still really can't hear any bass guitar :erk: Also, there might be just a bit too much presence in the vocals as well, but it's not that bad - either way, great job man!

Kick 15 and snare 15, Slate has re-done snare 15 for his new pack which I cant wait to try out because he wasnt happy with it but it fits this stuff better than the rest.

Yeah I always need to add some more top end to the snares and a pointer with the kick, try and knock out some 4-5k on kick 15 to take the "harshness" click out of it. It gives it a nice smooth well rounded sound, from what ive found. I also used a low shelf from 100hz -2.6db to tighten things up in the faster parts. I didnt use any compression on the samples themselves, parrallel comp and a bit on the drum bus is all that was used.

What about toms?
