Alright, it's time to trade in the old Ibanez for a newer model and I've decided to go Jackson. So my question is (and xenophobe your input on this would be greatly appricated) What model would be the best for a guy who's looking to spend about 500-600 dollars (US)?
Thanks

Why bother dude? Keep your Ibanez for awhile and save up another $1000, then buy a nice Jackon Kelly or Soloist! A Jackson at the price you want to buy isn't going to be much better than what you probably already have.

I have a KE3, and I love that. However, you oughtta save up and buy a USA Jackson. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, (that I have played), plays like my KV2.

Although I am at a point where I want a nice PRS, and we are talking between 3 and 5 thousand, depending on the model.

Hey Draconamis, that all depends on what features you're looking for. ...pickup layout, body shape, trem?

There are a couple of really nice guitars in that price range... The DKMG/DKMGT or the DK2s. They're REALLY nice for the money.

If you can manage to save up about $1200, you can get a brand new USA Soloist... The USA line is definitely worth saving up for, IMO...

If you don't mind buying stuff off ebay, I've scored over a dozen USA Jacksons over the internet, and if the description is decently accurate, I never worry about how it will play... Jackson USA guitars are probably the most consistent quality-wise over their entire 20 or so years of production.

You can get a mint USA Soloist on ebay for about $650-850, and it's something I would consider. Or if you can manage to find one of the EARLY (91-93/4) Jackson Professionals with the Mother of Pearl logos, those have the same playability and build quality of USA, and even the same components. But they sell close to USA prices, even on ebay.

If you're looking for a new price, go to Guitar Center, and play a few, see what you like... then check the price against:

They're all great people with great service and good repuations in the Charvel/Jackson community.

Hope that helps. :)
