New Helloween album

I didnt even know there was a new Helloween album out till a friend told me about it the other day. I got it from I Tunes and let me say I was pleasantly surprised!

I would say it's the total opposite of what Keepers III was. This one is less bloated, more to the point, and very well written(I did like Keepers III but thought it was too much to digest at a time). So far the only song I dont like is Can Do it, too ridiculous for my tastes.

so what do you guys think about it?

I haven't heard it yet, but I'm interested in it, so I'm waiting to see more reviews. It has gotten a positive reception from what I've read so far.

I picked it up Tuesday and basically haven't stopped listening to it. I think it is way better than the last one.

Better than the last 1 or 2 but still not "up to par" for what Deris-era Helloween can do. There's just something missing in the overall picture for me. I can't put my finger on it just yet, but there's something.

They lack some Uli Kusch.

Masterplan is severely lacking some of that these days too, and it shows.

IMO, Masterplan is only lacking Jorn. Mike Teranna is one hell of a drummer, although he should have stayed with Rage

Terrana is a great drummer, sure, but Uli wrote about 60-70% of Masterplan's music.

I just found out about it and picked it up just the other day - the first listen kicked my ass! Been on regular rotation all week \m/

I kinda miss the pseudo-neoclassical shredding(in Helloween) from Roland Grapow as well, but overall the album is very good.

Ditto that for me. It's less happy and more heavy, but it's no Dark Ride, or Better Than Raw, or even Time of the Oath.

Clips I have heard sound like Dark Ride. Only clips so far though.
