New Iced Earth

Stu is a buddy

toured with him for over a month several years ago ... the shit that guy did live never failed to amaze me ... on top of that he's INCREDIBLY dynamic and commanding as a frontman

If the music for the new one is on par with HIS abilities this could be one of the best IE cds in a long time

Nice to hear that. IE will be here on December and I was not planning to go to the concert until I hear new Dante. Can't wait now. :Smokin:

^ if you never saw him live with Into Eternity .. Stu is gonna amaze you. His stage energy is right up there with Bruce Dickinson at his craziest but with less random arm flapping :D

Damn, he is still in Into Eternity though, right? I was definitely looking forward to hearing more material from them, though the free Dantes Inferno track with Stu on it is definitely badass.

The new vocals has balls! Very good. The kick drum sucks really hard, The way the drummer plays some parts arent very good, didnt like the guitar solos also. The original instrumental it´s much better.

Fuck!
I must confess I didn't look alot into the new vocalist when I heared the announcment, mostly because I didn't like the new albums a lot anyway.
Also saw them live with Barlow 2 times, so I allready was happy with my IE experience.
I'm a HUGE barlow fan, but this guy nails it. Really curious on the new album now I must say.
Altho I don't expect him to put a lot "barlowness" into the new songs, as he does in DI (at least I suppose that).
agree with Nuno on the sucky kick
Even if the new Iced Earth album should suck -> plenty of Into Eternity for me to explore yet

fuck yeah

Carlos, how come you know and have played with TWO people who can pull off a Barlow?!
I'd be glad to say that about half a person lol

^ Funny enough, Barlow lives about 45 minutes south of me and is a police officer

If I drive fast enough there is actually quite a good chance of being pulled over by him :D

My buddy ran into him and his wife at a walmart not long ago

To say the truth even with a new singer I dont have much hope in IE. Last good album is Horror Show. They have a new singer but it´s schaffer who writes all the shit.

Idk, the vocals are awesome but I feel like Im hearing barlow and not stu.
Like stu is trying to imitate barlow on the heavier vocals. This may be just what some people want but I was hoping that stu would bring something a little different to Iced Earth. We'll have to wait how he writes vocal lines for new stuff

I agree with most everyone here, the bass drum is borderline annoying. The guitars are a little undergained, but I think that has been Iced Earth's thing for the last few albums. I have been listening to Stu since he joined Into Eternity, and didn't know he had it in hime to pull off those lower melodies. I have become hopeful for the next album, but we will see.

I'm excited to hear this album. The only thing that bothers me is that the last two albums sound like sd2 drums, and this new version doesn't sound much different drum wise.

I'd love to get my hands on Iced Earth, I'd make them record with an acoustic drum-kit, and reamp Jon's rhythm though an mp-1.

I'd say there is still some hope for this album:

Sounds put together somewhat stronger than the last few albums. Harking back to the late 90's early 00's IE, so still not too original, but if we're expecting original from IE then we're going to be dissapointed for eternity lol.
