New interview of Warrel

I knew the cover had something to do with the Washington Memorial! Badass. I still don't understand the album title, I don't think Warrel really does either, but it sounds so dark and fitting for a Nevermore album so who cares.

I'd go for something vaguely related to obsidian being generally black(hur durr), translucent yet not transparent, and seen as the main characteristic of this conspiracy we're talking about, which is the album(?). To me it basically suggests "Dig for meanings, fuckers!"

you guys are obviously waaaay off base. The Obsidian Conspiracy is WD taking on the Obama Administration's blatant socialist agenda, and professing his support of the Tea Party Movement. And the Maiden Spoke is clearly about the time he witnessed Sarah Palin give a brilliant speech, Emptiness Unobstructed is a criticism of the bailouts and 'emptiness' of our national treasury, She Comes in Colors is about Michelle Obama's gaudy fashion choices, The Termination Proclamation is about death panels that wanna kill your gramma, Without Morals is obvious, The Blue Marble and The New Soul is an extremely clever reference to the Hawaiian Isles and Obama's 'new soul' as an American with a fake birth certificate...still researching and analyzing the rest, stay tuned!

So tell us about the album:

I think it’s gonna be hard for people to not compare anything Jeff or I would do with Nevermore. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I think the Nevermore sound comes from both of us.

Nice. and what sets this album apart from say, This Godless Endeavor?

I think it’s gonna be hard for people to not compare anything Jeff or I would do with Nevermore. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I think the Nevermore sound comes from both of us.

Could You describe the sound of the new album?

I think it’s gonna be hard for people to not compare anything Jeff or I would do with Nevermore. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I think the Nevermore sound comes from both of us.

Very Cool. What about the song titles?

Thanks!

yeah... warrel, these dudes interviewed me too, for some reason, about winning the metalsucks contest. i could barely understand what they were saying cause the phone connection was so bad and they had VERY thick french accents. they probably misheard you about the solo album thing.

thanks for the kind words, by the way. unless that was misquoted too :p

Glad to know the new Nevermore album is all about the ol' US of A.

"...This interview was a good opportunity to talk about The Obsidian Conspiracy, I think it’s gonna be hard for people to not compare anything Jeff or I would do with Nevermore. Not to sound arrogant or anything, but I think the Nevermore sound comes from both of us".

HáHá... that phrase surely was in his mind, lol....

Malevolous damned ctrl+v keys or just a Kafkian case of schizophrenia...

Anyway, TOC is just awesome. Inspired with fresh ideas. Nevermore never let me down.

Cheers....

The obsidian is the volcanic glass. I think right now, given the state of the world, especially in Iceland, volcanoes are very popular – unpopular, rather! I don’t know where the title came from, it just came.
Well the volcano has become a tourist trap.. with T-shirts, ash in jar and stuff for sale..
Newest pic of the crater... just water vapour..

Very cool that WD idolizes Dio.

To me, this album reflects so much about my life that I don't even want to start thinking about the reason why Warrel wrote this lyrics. It is so intense. Iw was wrote by someone else, yet it still feels kinda personal to me. I guess that when it touches human issues, we all kinda direct the lyrics to what we want to relate to....
Yet, Warrel just have a way with words that I actually can't describe.... I just want to be thankful for your music when you read this.

And sorry for my poor english words... I'm a foreign Neverhead.
