New interview of Warrel

i feel like a lot of the lyrics in some of the songs could be about abortion, especially The Termination Proclamation and a few lines from the title track. though i'm not sure how that relates to volcanoes. or what it has to do with television screens and weird kids and a ruined washington monument.

it is..... ;)

There's so much in this album that references backward, I haven't had time to digest it all yet. The artwork is especially intriguing, with the standard Nevermore mask-person facing this new figure....the guy in the interview mentioned it looked like they were in opposition, but I think people are all over "Obsidian" and haven't concentrated enough on "Conspiracy"...

or what it has to do with television screens and weird kids and a ruined washington monument.

Remember Poison godmachine, The politics of ecstasy, Medicated nation? Final product? A future uncertain? etc etc
There are some recurring themes. *scratches head*

you guys are obviously waaaay off base. The Obsidian Conspiracy is WD taking on the Obama Administration's blatant socialist agenda, and professing his support of the Tea Party Movement. And the Maiden Spoke is clearly about the time he witnessed Sarah Palin give a brilliant speech, Emptiness Unobstructed is a criticism of the bailouts and 'emptiness' of our national treasury, She Comes in Colors is about Michelle Obama's gaudy fashion choices, The Termination Proclamation is about death panels that wanna kill your gramma, Without Morals is obvious, The Blue Marble and The New Soul is an extremely clever reference to the Hawaiian Isles and Obama's 'new soul' as an American with a fake birth certificate...still researching and analyzing the rest, stay tuned!

Well I'm glad that's cleared things up.

Interesting to hear WD say that about DNB. Makes sense though. Somewhat refreshing, too, when so many bands gush the same ol' cliches about their latest output being the "heaviest, most ass-kicking, dynamic, best thing we've ever done honest etc. etc."

I would personally like to ask if I would get crucified on this forum if I made a very serious criticism about the new album. Ja? Nein?

it is..... ;)

THATS A LIE!

Its got everything to do with the current president, the first thing I think of when the word Obsidian comes to mine is never ending blackness ....

Damn those Kenyans run fast ;)

Come on we all know WD is a racist! :p

Yes this is totally non PC and I really dont give a rats ass. Fuck Obama and fuck the US Government, while I do love my country the politicians can suck a dick!

schweet. I always wanted something from warrel himself regarding the Heart Collector, it being my favorite song. and also its cool to hear a less-vague description of his beliefs.

nice.
