new mac....4 or 8 core?

I just upgraded my macbook duo core to a macbook pro i7 quadcore and Ho LEE Shit. I started it up, it told me I had new updates and that my computer needed to restart. I clicked restart and about 25 seconds later it was updated and restarted.

You might just be able to repair or exchange the part which died on your old mac and use it until you buy a new one.

after reading a lot of benchmarks in january I bought a quad-core but with 3,2 ghz. That update realy pushed it (in the benchmarks) and had more power with some apps then the NEW 8-cores. (I am writting new because the new quadcores have 8 cores in total and the new 8-cores have 16 cores in total)

My mac pro is working perfectly smooth and you know I am realy up to date with software.
Running dfh 2.0 with Vcc and beeing able to record with a buffer set to 32 is realy great.

My macbook pro did it for 3,5 years so I bet the mac pro will last for 5 years minimum.

You can also update the CPU and board and all that shit with some special apple services.
This will cost around 1-2k but is a hell lot cheaper then 3-4k

cancelled the order, bought a used 2.5GHz dual, will use that til august and then buy a new mac

thats a good choice.

I payed 2700€ or something for the 3,2 qhad with 12gb ram and 3x1TB hd´s
so that eight-core for 3600€ is a bit overpriced.

And maybe you will benefit from TB within the new mac pros, because maybe you can buy chasis for PCI cards ?!?!

True bypass in the new mac pro's?? AWESOMZ!:hotjump:

Btw Lasse you're lucky you cancelled even considering the Time Capsule: Apple released new versions 2TB and 3TB instead of 1 and 2, but at the same prices.
So you'll most probably get the 2TB version for the price of the old one when you order a new MacPro. Nice small bonus :D

They say it's a completely new CPU core architecture for the new Mac Pro's, not SandyBridge but even better.
Probably CPUs like the Xeon ones, that are originally made for servers.
