New maiden album.

Nearly every Maiden album I have listened to (and I started listening to them back in the late 80s) always requires several listens. I find most of their albums are growers rather than balls to the wall straight out instant grabs.

But heck it's Maiden - they've sounded the same for a long time (and that isn't a bad thing either) so I am sure I will love this one too.

I'm waiting until i can buy it tomorrow and listen to it while reading the booklet. I liked The Final Frontier video and El Dorado is a blast, at least live. I've heard the rest is more... progressive and needs a few listens until you can fully enjoy it.

if Maidenboy hasn't ordered them all already.

I am going to go buy them and wait in front of the hotel the band is staying at and cry like a little girl hoping to get the band to sign my copy.

actually i haven't even heard it yet. I heard the single and didn't like it much. Hopefully the rest of the album will be better. Will find out soon enough. But I really don't have too high of hopes for it

A buddy of mine had the album. I listened to it last night. There is some really good stuff on the album. There is also so really boring stuff on there. But I am sure even those 'boring' songs I will grow into after a bunch of spins. When you think about how these guys are in their 50's it's quite amazing. It definitely isn't the next Number of the Beast but it is definitely worth listening to and has cool artwork

listened to it in it's entirety last night on youtube, the cd is on it's way, i like what i've heard but i will do my 2nd listen when i have the cd.

up the irons!

I think Bruce sounds so much better when he sings in his range now. The highs sound way too forced for him. But yeah all the 2000 and on albums grew on me and are right up there with the classics. Plus the quality sounds a little off in my car. I'll for sure purchase the disc when it comes out and give it some good listens.

Yeah I am with you on that one. I do think his highs sound too forced on some of the stuff nowdays. I like most of the 2000's Maiden albums as well. Each of them has their good and bad. I liked the last one a lot. This will will take some time to grow, and possibly seeing them live to really get it.

The productions have all been semi similar. I wish some of these bands would go back and use the same recording equipment they did when the put out some of their classic albums. I will take the production on 7th son, piece of mind, or powerslave over any of the productions they have done since then. That was 20 years ago. You would think technology would make things better but it really doesn't

yes, production kills many listenable records these days, i don't get why engineers and producers still think the louder the better after all the well known problems with loudness wars and countless discussions about sound & production that followed the releases of Metallica's St. Anger & Death Magnetic.

Heard it in its entirety last night. I liked it. Lots of stuff on there that will have to grow over several listens but sounds killer so far. Like imf09 said it's no NOTB but it is very solid. Maiden are playing the Soundwave festival down here early next year, and I'm so happy to finally see them. They're always been my "elusive" band that for some reason I've never had the opportunity to see live in 23 years of listening to metal. Up the Irons!!!

I downloaded it. It's about as strong as AMOLAD, only that one was typical progressive Maiden, while TFF is alot more experimental. I still have to listen to it a few more times to know if it's going to be a favorite.
