New maiden album.

i agree with Johnnie on Derrick bein' a monster on stage, saw them 3 times (1st time Roots-tour with Max, 2 times with Derrick) live and Derrick really is a good front man but Max was very, very important in Sepultura, at least they play many old songs live, 'Chaos AD' is a really strong album from them, probably their best, i also like 'Arise' & 'Beneath The Remains', those are Thrash classics, i could do without the rest. 'Dante' is better than the first Derrick-records and i haven't heard 'Alex'.

i actually don't find their performance bad in the first video & there are some sexy girls in the audience, nice. but Sepultura without the Cavalera brothers is like Anthrax without Scott & Charlie. *lol*

this is what Sepultura will be remembered for:

I am a huge Sepultura fan. I saw them several times on the Arise tour. That was some amazing shit back then. I really didn't like the direction they went in with Roots. At the time I really wasn't into Chaos AD either. I now like that album. But I loved Beneath The Remains, Schizophrenia, Arise, and even really like Morbid Visions the most. I liked some of Nation but not much of the Derick era did much for me.

Soulfly I love almost all of their albums. I really liked Prophecy, Dark Ages, and Conquer. The first album is brilliant as well. The new one has some good stuff but not the best.

Cavalera Conspiracy is bad ass. Saw them live, it was like watching Sepultura back in 1991 all over again!

Schizophrenia I listen to more than any of them. Was brutal thrash and complex. Very raw

i like the songs on 'Schizophrenia' but the production really sucks, i will remaster it myself, i have a nice little program that at least doubles the volume and you can also change the sound, more or less bass, vocals louder or lower, echo effects and stuff like that, the programme almost does that job all alone.

I like the raw production of the album. They didn't have any budget just went in and thrashed on an 8 track. Something really brutal about that album and the production. Would be interesting to hear those songs re-recorded but i like them the way they are.

What programme is that?

I don't nee to see a huge black guy jump up and down like an idiot. Max is a legend. Derrik Green is nothing and never will be. Max has earned the right to do what ever he wants. Soulfly destroys anything "Sepultura" has done

Max as old as he is still shits all over Derrik even live.

Soulfly is mediocre at best. Have you read Max's lyrics - they read like a 16 year old emo kids lyrics. Seek and Strike? (Seek and Destroy)?

In addition, does anyone else thing they ahve heard a lot of his riffs before? He rips off a lot of other bands riffs IMO.

I agree with everyone stating that Sepultura died when Max left.

I am not a fan of Soulfly. They are mediocre and inconsistent. But that is way better than what Sepultura has become.

I agree on Schizophrenia. Even though the production is horrible, it is a band at a stage in their career that needed to sound like that. So as bad as the mix sounds, it still sounds better than St. Anger! LOL.

To me, the best Sepultura album is Beneath the Remains. That album is the closest thing to Reign In Blood in terms of brutality and thrash that has ever been recorded. I love that album.

AS for the new Maiden. I was lucky I had to drive around all day today. Had a chance to listen to it 5X today. And yes it is an album that needs to grow on you, but that is what Maiden is. Like the movie, Inception, you have to listen to it more than once to get it. And to me, this album is superb. I do hope it does reach #1 on the billboard charts.

Altough, I still prefer Accident at Birth and Chemical Wedding. It is on par with Tyranny of Souls. Those Bruce solo albums are MONSTERS and should be listened by all.

And as far as the Blaze-era. Ugh. That was as bad a mistake as Cherone in VH. I sometimes do wonder what it would've sounded had Michael Kiske been offered the gig. But he was sooo disillusioned by the rest of the dickheads (at that time) in Helloween that he turned his back on metal. Which is sad because I wonder what he would've sounded singing Aces High.

agreed! 'Beneath The Remains' definitely is one of the best Thrash albums of all time.

Yep I will definitely agree there. One of the best all around metal albums of all time. It is flawless.

I love Soulfly as well. Their first album is one of my favorite albums of all time. I love Nailbomb as well.

So between Sepultura, Nailbomb, Soulfly, and Cavalera Conspiracy I'd say Max has done some really good shit, some of the best in heavy music history. He is one of the few legends of metal still performing today.

It would be amazing to see them all reunite and do a Sepultura tour again.

Love to see "Sepultura" pull that shit off with Derrik Greene

I love Soulfly and pretty much anything Max has done too.

Not too keen on Omen though - some decent songs but nothing as good as their earlier stuff.

Yeah i am not a huge fan of Omen. There are a few good songs. I like Kingdom, Blood Bath And Beyond is good too in a punk/hardcore kind of way.

This song is nice...

"Under the moon, this march of doom, it comes too soon, under the sun; prophecy undone, the omen will come"

listened to FF three times in it's entirety, it hasn't grown much on me but i will listen to it many many times more anyway, they can never reach the quality of their old records but which band can? expecting an album like 'Powerslave', 'Peace Of Mind' or 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' is like expecting Slayer to put out RIB Pt. 2.
