new MEGADETH album

I bought "Endgame" yesterday, along with the new Shadow's Falls special edition discs. I've been listening to "Endgame" this morning and it smokes! I don't know how anyone who claims to like metal couldn't like this! This comes highly recommended from edgeofthorns for whatever it's worth.

Dave proves once again that he's heads and shoulders above the Metallica boys, talent wise.

That Devin video was awesome. He's a crack. However, to Tribunal's point, Devin wanks in his own way. I'm not sure that one form of wank necessarily has more value than the other, it's merely a matter of preference. Music is ultimately about enjoyment. And if someone enjoys listening to someone better than themselves shred, so be it.

Can someone explain to me what problems people have with United Abominations? It seems from my recollection that it was pretty well received when it came out, and now for some reason when a new Megadeth record comes out, people are shitting on the previous release. To be honest, I thought UA was a great return to form after the TSHF and TWNAH and don't forget the shitspactacular that is Risk.

With that being said, the new album is great. I can't really say if I like it more than UA though, but that's simply because I've only listened to it once. I just personally don't get the problems with UA. I thought it was pretty solid throughout.

I actually think the last three range from very good to solid. I like the newest the best followed by The System Has Failed. UA is my least favorite, but it's still a decent disc. It seems to me that UA is pretty strong in the first half, and then starts to fall off the cliff a bit. Risk and The World Needs A Hero were terrible, so I never thought Megadeth would be able to get back to an acceptable level. They've done it.

I hereby declare that I'm the only person on this forum that can get some enjoyment out of listening to "Risk".
