New Megadeth song....

Wow, there's some serious Marty Friedman hate in this thread. Don't get me wrong - Japanese pop music is definitely not something I enjoy - but to each their own. You can't argue that Megadeth's spectrum of music isn't exactly very broad. I can see why he got bored with it.

On another note, I was checking out the supposed track listing for the new album - why is Dave re-releasing a bunch of B-sides from the past? New World Order, Black Swan, Millennium of the Blind... these are all songs I've heard before. Are they being re-recorded or something? Dave must really have writer's block or something.

Then again... remember when he remade A Tout Le Monde with that chick from Lacuna Coil? :yuk:

you know what, i am asking myself the same thing. i am assuming we will find out soon.

I haven't listened to Peace Sells or Rust in Peace in a long time, but I don't recall that era of Megadeth having high-flying choruses. It sounds weird.

This is hilarious. Lou Reed is hilarious.

You know, I listened to the clip and I thought it was a joke, until I actually looked it up. I also had no idea who Lou Reed was until I looked him up, and I guess he released a double-disc album a while back of nothing but feedback noise. Thus, I agree with Postulate - anyone who can release such a thing is, indeed, hilarious.

They've been doing it more and more ever since Youthanasia, I believe. Hell, I can't recall if most of the tunes from Peace Sells or RIP even had choruses. That's one of the reasons I used to like them - they took the conventional song structure that everyone else was using and threw it out the window.

Dave is re-recording some b-sides to make the song total 13 because he wants to tweak them.

I'd honestly rather have eight great songs than 13 with a bunch of filler. Oh well. I always liked New World Order; it'll be cool to see what Dave does with it.

How can there be Marty hate at all? Seriously. The guy was part of Megadeth's golden years, wrote some of the most melodic and memorable leads in metal, and then got out right when the band started to suck. GOOD FOR HIM!

As for this new song. Predictable uninspired junk. You could easily have fooled me into thinking that this track was off of any of their recent insignificant releases. I mean...I'm thinking that Lou Reed doing some spoken word over this song would actually improve it.

And...don't name anything else "Public Enemy #1". It's over. It's done. Given how over-used that phrase is, there are thousands of public enemies, thus making the original claim invalid.

Yeah. Im pretty sure Dave thought that singing in French was a little gay, so he figured singing it with a sexy chick would diminish the gayness. And i like it.

I dont hate Marty Friedman. Hes one of my bigger guitar influences and i try to steal a lot of his style more than most others. But Dave already tried to regroup with the RIP lineup and it didnt work for many reasons.
