New Metallica song "The Day that Never Comes"

My thoughts on this, as I was listening:

Holy shit, lead guitar.
Still boring. When do distorted guitars come in, or is this album all slow songs?
Got better here. Decent clean arpeggio stuff.
UGH...is that Hetfield?
Better than Stanger. But still...maybe over distorted?
There we go. Much better. Not bad now, actually. Sweet, more leads.
Fuck, it went soft again.
These lyrics are kinda silly. At least he doesn't end every line with "-ah"
wait, yes he does
How about some of those thrash-sounding songs we heard in that video they had up?
Also, why does this sound shitty? I mean, the actual sound, it's pretty bad...kinda fuzzy. I dunno. Don't think it's my headphones.
This just got gay.
Now it's not totally gay, just lame.
Solo plz?
There we go. Good solo now?
Nope.
You'd think after all these years lars could come up with a more interesting beat. At least he's not using trash cans anymore.
This song bites, but at least the album won't blow as much as Stanger.
Oh, hey, good solo. More like it. Reminds me of the solos on The Black Album, or maybe Ride. In a good way.
How long must this faggotry continue? This is like over 7 minutes without any killer riffs or good vocal lines.
So when they write these songs, do they actually think they're good? Because that'd be sad. But if they realize this stuff sucks...
Whatever. Had enough.

God, that was pretty boring. I don't care how good the solo at the end was (it wasn't bad) but I could never listen to that song for a second time.

Sounds like something off Load/Reload

I'll probably buy it

I thought it was pretty good. It seems deeper and more complex than the stuff on Load.

I wouldn't expect them to do anything close to their first three albums of course, but this one sounds like it could be at least on par with Load.

Also, why does this sound shitty? I mean, the actual sound, it's pretty bad...kinda fuzzy. I dunno. Don't think it's my headphones.

I kinda liked that fuzzy sound, I hope it's not just a trick played on my senses by poor MySpace quality.

As for the song itself... Utterly unremarkable.
