Michael Kiske's new project (with help from some PC 69 guys) entitled "Place Vendome" has sound bites at www.melodicrock.com under the news section for Thursday July 14th.

Good sounding melodic hard rock with his voice---hell yeah!!!

Check it out while it's still there!!! :hotjump:

I totally lost respect for Kiske. Hell, first he says he will NOT participate in Metal music anymore and now he's doing this and appearing in 100 concept albums?

The man has no integrity whatsoever. I will personally not buy anything from him unless he makes a statement declaring that he was under the influence of drugs/alcohol when he made those insulting statements towards his fanbase.

I am not a fan of him and even I felt insulted.

Kiske is like the Metal/Hard Rock version of Cher. He keeps saying he's done with the scene, yet he keeps coming back.

Who cares as long as he keeps putting out great stuff. Love that guy's voice. So he doesn't know what he wants to do with his life. Neither do I. :p

It's not the fact he doesn't know what he wants in life, it's because of the statement he gave. He gave this huge longwinded statement on why he would never sing metal again, yet he still does. It's not him being indecisive, its him being hypocritical.

Besides, I think nowadays his voice is overrated. Play Avantasia "Reach Out to the Light" to someone with fresh ears. See if they can really hear a difference between Tobias and Kiske (Ernie on album). Most people don't even realize there is multiple singers on it because they sound almost identical.

If that's the case its only because everybody is trying to sing like Kiske since it is pretty well known and accepted that the old Helloween was the start of the modern "power metal" sound. Sure there was Maiden and Queensryche and the like to influence them, but if you ask most power metal bands nowadays who influenced them, 9 out of 10 would probably say Keeper Era Helloween.

I totally agree with you and TBJ. A hypocrite Kiske is. I don't know how Kiske could make such a strong statement and be joking about it. If he was truthful in that statement, then he's trashing his integrity for the sake of money.

Even if his new stuff sounds good, I can't forget what he said whenever I hear him sing (just like Geoff Tate and Rob Halford who also bashed metal when they embarked on a solo career). Damage done. I can't listen to these guys without thinking that they're selling me a big lie to get my cash, and that's what bothers me most. :yuk:

For any other metal musicians out there who are playing metal and don't want to, then don't let me know. Just quit for personal reasons and let it go at that. Don't burn down any bridges with your fans like the above have done. You might need that bridge to come back after you fall flat on your fucking face. :Smug:

Cool statement.

I saw Priest with Queensryche a few weeks ago and had to sit through Geoff Tate's bullshit metalhead posturing...thanking the fans for supporting metal...and praising the metalheads...and all-around basking in his own metalness.

First off...at a Priest show...you're preaching to the choir...and secondly...when you've spent the past few years adamantly trying to separate yourself from the metal scene...your bullshit posturing is a joke.

I grew up idolizing Tate and Kiske as an aspiring young singer. Today, Tate's an egotistical blowhard who thinks he's an artist, but doesn't realize his talents are fading fast.

I still admire Kiske's work, but what a hypocrite he's turned out to be to the music that put him on the map. On the other hand, I can imagine he's a bit frustrated that...if he's not singing metal...nobody gives a shit. Poor guy...it's a shame, but don't shit on the ones that admire you.

Rock on!

Yeah, this reminds of Tate in a way. Tate tries to convince us long-time fans that the current crap they're putting out is progressive, while he's up on stage jumping up and down with a tamborine! I'm not making that up either! He was acting that way last year in Columbus, OH. It was sad :-(

Tate lost a lot of credibility with me YEARS ago. He was on some sort of Earth Day "special" broadcast, ranting and railing against the evils of the dairy industry and how it's really bad for your health to drink milk...and there he is, puffing away on a cigarette.

Yeah...he did the pogo-stick routine just a few weeks ago in Dallas...looked like a fag...(and certainly not metal)...

Rock on!

He used to be really anal about hiding the fact that he smoked when they were up-and-coming. Probably didn't want to be a bad influence to all his aspiring singer fans or something.

Now I don't think he gives a shit...kinda lost his power and range anyway...and he doesn't have much reputation to protect anymore...hehe!

Rock on!
