New My Dying Bride

Behold, chap! I strongly recommend you to attend reading lessons of elementary school as well as english language. First of all, "Half a year" is not the same as "a year and a half", at least in old good english we all kind of trying to speak here, leaving behind the fact it isn't our mother tongue.
Second of all, I said I don't like what I find so far among new bands, which doesn't imply there are no good bands at all. See? It's quite logical isn't it? I say "I don't like what I hear" but not "there are no good bands".
Moreover, I even didn't say "i don't like"... what I said was "It's not "lifting" = not catching"
And third of all, I NEVER SAY STUPID THINGS, WHICH IS QUITE OPPOSITE TO YOU YOUNG MAN, as we see.
And then, don't you find it just odd to enjoy tons of something? Would you enjoy tons of apples? Or tons of women? Or tons of flowers? So I suggest you to think first and only then to share your opinion and also remember "No wisdom like silence".. Good english saying, though. :err:

That was funny.

the new album is good :)

Minimal on the keys this time around, and where they are present they are a good addition! I loved last album, ,but they keys ruined it.. bring back the violin or minimize the keys.. which they did. Good.

Growls are weaker than last cd though.. more like light at the end...

Oh my fine Sir Russell! I only talked to a servant of Sir Lee, old Autoreplyson! He said that fine Sir Lee is away (in a pub I guess) and asked me to call later!

Well, my fine sir! Then we can conclude only one thing! Lee is a bad teacher if his servant knows only this phrase... but maybe it is a parrot, Barrett's parrot! Then fine sir Lee is a great teacher! At least because that lovely birdy copies Lee's voice extremely good!
I've got an idea... If I will ever be going to have a parrot then his name will be: try to guess:))

I must admit I haven't heard any of their material but I love the whole winter scheme of the band. Always have loved it, like Immortal Souls. Downloading a sample now.

What you say must be the truth, my most excellent friend :D Barrett's Parrot must be of great intelligence, to answer the phone so well!

A bit off topic, but o well. I didnt want to start a new thread.

Usualy when people talk of katatonia they speak of there older period. What is there "older" period? I just recently got Dance of December Souls and am wondering which other ones to get, and which ones not to get.

:) Personally, I like the one you got, For Funerals to Come, Jhva Elohim Meth, Sounds of Decay and Brave Murder Day... others aren't my cup of tea.

Their earlier stuff is way more doomy, newer stuff is more melodic rock. Of their early material ive only got Dance of December Souls which is great and the others are all their newer style (discouraged ones, last fair deal gone down, tonights decision, viva emptiness) and they're also great albums

Back to the main topic here, the new Bride album is very good, though not as good as the Dreaful Hours. The overall sound is very mellonchollie and depressing, and the agression has been cut back on a bit, though its still there. Theres not as much growling as the previous album, but hey the growls are used where appropriate. The production is great as the album has a very thick and full sound to it, really heavy. Overall its a very solid album, but still can't be described as great. Best Tracks:Catherine Blake, My Wine in Silence, And My Fury Stands Ready (though like I said this is a really solid album from start to finish)

Couldnt have said it better myself crimsonfloyd. Also i think another stand out track is The Prize of Beauty
Yeah that song is very good, as is The Wreckage of my Flesh, and A Doomed Lover. Well so now I've listed almost all the songs as top songs, what can I say...
