New Necrophagist

Necrophagist has good songs, but I can't take a full album of that shit. There's far better tech-death.

the longer a band/musician spends re-tracking and re-recording to make everything perfect, the more the album just becomes an over produced, made to please fail of a record.....(death magnetic)

Metallica was one of the worst examples you could have used, especially considering they sucked for almost 19 years before Death magnetic was released. You can't really say that either the new Necrophagist album or Time are going to suck because of the amount of time they are taking. The last good album Metallica made was And Justice, and after that they started growing vaginas.

everyone was copying them because they fucking pwned the 80's so they decided to do music that people werent doing all the time and they did it well

You mean, people "copying" them did it better, so they decided to run from competition (and failed)?

This is one of the few times I agree with you. Why would you start doing something different when someone copies you? "hey guys, people are copying us and failing, so let's copy other people and fail at that too!!!... Herp Derp" I don't see the logic in there. Many bands tried to be like Metallica in the 80's and all of them failed.

i don't think is that simple. Iron Maiden kept the same sound, and it's still good, Slayer kept the sound too, but it sucks balls. I don't think i would wanna play the same music over 20 years.

Slayers sound changed a little bit, but either way it's nothing I enjoy. Iron Maiden hasn't really changed as much as they have gotten better as musicians. Either way, the point I was making was how could anyone have high expectations for Death Magnetic considering the prior release (Saint Anger) sucked ass.

:Smug:...hmmm another St. Anger jab, well if you listen to st. anger a few times and try very hard to ignore the horrible tone, drum sound, and vocals, the MUSIC it self is okay....but overall, yes, a shitty album. It's just death magnetic had so much hype.....they were all on thier rags like "Oh, death magnetic is back to the old metallica" and shit like that. So...i let myself get excited and was sadly let down.

(At a restaurant) Well, if you try very hard to ignore that it's undercooked, tastes horrible, the chef has no idea what he's doing and the sauces are all wrong, the RECIPE itself is okay...

You're a fucking idiot. You're comparing a piece of music to a dinner.

You eat dinner for the TASTE. Being undercooked affects the taste, and thus the whole experience.

You listen to music for the MUSIC. Horrible production doesn't affect the music itself. Well it does... but to a very negligable degree. With food the identity of the food can be changed/left unrecognizable... with music, even with bad production, the basic framework (the MUSIC) is still easily discernable and enjoyable.

Asshole.

STFU. You have no idea what you're talking about. "with music, even with bad production, the basic framework (the MUSIC) is still easily discernable and enjoyable." is a load of bull. Performance, and in the case of records, production, is as important as composition. That's right, you listen to music for music, not the score. So no, I'm not comparing "a piece of music to dinner", learn to fucking read.
