New Necrophagist

STFU. You have no idea what you're talking about. "with music, even with bad production, the basic framework (the MUSIC) is still easily discernable and enjoyable." is a load of bull. Performance, and in the case of records, production, is as important as composition. That's right, you listen to music for music, not the score. So no, I'm not comparing "a piece of music to dinner", learn to fucking read.

You are now aware that you're trying to argue production with a black metal fag

I see where everyones coming from with the important production thing, but production is NO WHERE near as important as the music...now raw black metal...they take this principle too far, BUT ST. Anger is no where near as....qshshshshshshshshshshshhhssssshhhhsss, as raw black metal.

Not just production, but also performance. You mentioned vocals, vocals=performance.

You can have awesome music with raw or poor production.

You can NOT have poor music with good production.

Production in music is negligable. Crzy_Aus, choke on a million dicks.

You can have an awesome recipe with poor ingredients
You can have a shitty recipe made with the best ingredients in the world

Both are shitty. Is that analogy clear enough, or do I need to make a flowchart to make it easier on your chicken-like brain?

Negate my point first, and don't just use shitty, fallacious analogies.

You're the one trying to argue with me in the first place. I don't need to restate what I said since it still holds, and your point, well, has no point, Mr. Polandball.

Not to mention I already did negate it. You just don't seem to know how to read more complicated arguments. Time to ask mommy to teach you how to?

...k?

You're trying to link cooking, to art. It doesn't fucking work. There is a technique, to cooking a good, enjoyable steak. There is no TECHNIQUE, to creating a piece of art, as music a means of expressing emotions.

Music with abrasive (or "poor" as you'd like to call it) production is still good music. If it evokes emotions then it does it's job, regardless of what a random weaboo faggot on the internet says.

My point holds. You're the one that's making the claim that it's not... so prove me wrong.

Also its an Electrode, it's not the symbol for Poland you rancid piece of bulky white shit.

Pff, alright, nuff with the weaboo nerdrage, you. Like I'd care if it's a pokeball of some sort, or a meme from 4chan or w/e.

A few things that make what you say complete bullshit. a) Cooking = art; b) there is definitely technique to any art - it can vary, but it's a necessary prerequisite. You can't create art without technique. If you claim otherwise, then give a tonedeaf guy with no education or musical skill an instrument, and tell him to create a piece of art that will influence people centuries later. I haven't seen it happen. If you have, YOU prove ME wrong, Mr. Polan... umm, Pokefag.

And oh, there's difference between "poor" and "abrasive", because "abrasive" can be purposeful, while "poor" just denotes failure.

Technique yes, but everyone has their own i've found. It's not like do it this way or it's wrong, it's more open and subject to opinion.

A) Whatever. Conceded on that point.
B) No. One can create art without having a good grasp, or even a grasp at all, of knowledge/theory/philosophy/instruments/etc. There is no rules to art. Art is about expression, not the constraints of instruments, or production, or theory.
C) Varg Vikernes of Burzum... learned guitar at age of 14. Recorded the Burzum debut at 16. Considered in any respectable metal circle to be an incredibly influential metal album.
D) Chuck Schuldiner of Death... knew LITTLE TO NO THEORY. MADE UP HIS SCALES as he went along... many of which ended up being real scales. One of the, if not THE most influential death metal musician ever. Every DM band ever, owes something to Chuck. So yeah. GG?
E) It's not your place to denote "poor" production. There is only different levels of harshness and how it fits in, in your own margin of tolerance.
