new old song

Hi All,

I am pretty new to the recording game..and this is my first post on this cool forum. I have just recorded and mixed a song called "Sky of Fire" from my old band and i was wondering if you could give me some input. Sorry but its uploaded on myspace because i couldn't get the Celtia upload to work...not sure what i am doing wrong there?

Vocals may be too loud... but thats personal pref. I like to mix the vocal in with the other instruments... the mix sounds like it could use some compression...?

But then, I'm new too...

thanks for the input. Its interesting you say that the vocals are too high , i hzve listened to this track way to many times and i feel i am unable to make any judgement now. I will try another mix with lower vox.
Regarding the need for compression can you be more specific where is the lack of compression most noticable? I have done quite a bit of compressing on this track (....as far as i know how to...) both on individual instruments and multiband on the final track, but yes the track still sounds very amateurish. What you think of the guitar tone btw?
