New Opera IX

For anyone who didn't like Opera IX simply because they couldn't stand the voice of Cadaveria...you're in for a treat! A new vocalist is in place...and so far the new album "Maleventum" is one of the best of 2002!

Cadaveria had a great voice, added to the atmosphere of the songs. How does the new vocalist sound?

The main reason I liked Opera IX was Cadaveria's voice. I got a promo of the first Cadaveria album last week.

I'm curious to hear what the "new" Opera IX sound like.

Well the new guy has a very sinister sounding voice...that's pretty much how I'd describe it.
The sound of the music itself is just so much better production wise though. They've really evolved in that area...(even though the last album also had good sound). The theme seems to be less 'evil'...and now is more in a 'pagan/spiritual' nature...more than before at any rate.

I was rather disappointed with the last OperaIX album. It sounded a bit too CoF-y for my tastes. I do mourn Cadaveria's exit as she is what kept the band unique and interesting.

Well the band has maintained a unique quality...just check out Maleventum. You won't regret...
