New recto VS. old Recto

Anyone know what year the mesa rectos had the tube or solid state switch the bold spongy switch etc...? I just got a 1999 model and it doesn't have any of that.

All single rectifier's never had the switch, my dual channel 1994 (I think) dual rectifier has the switch.
