I've build a mesa-style tube preamp, but I have to tweak it a bit, cause i'm not satisfied with the result yet...

Here is how it sounds actually:

(sorry for the sloppy riffing...)

What I need from you is a sample of the Mesa Recto from the Send-fx, recorded direct using impulses.

I need a clip of the red channel, just one track with the eq/gain you like (but you should tell me the settings used) and absolutely no post processing or pedals before it.

Let me know the impulse used too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks guys

EDIT: important: use the DIODE rectifier, not the tubes!!! My preamp has the diode rectifier only! Don't know about spongy/bold (probably spongy)... let say a sample of both variacs

Hey! Sounds nice, where did you get the idea? I would like to have a similar preamp for home use.

Thanks man, but I think is still far from being nice...

Anyway I found schematics on the net (check FreeInfoSociety electronic section or search "dual rectifier schematics" on google).

I'm having troubles with tonestack and I'm running out of ideas to improve it... the reference tensions are pretty much identical so I really don't know what to do...

I've spent about 250euros (chassis included)

Well the thickness and the response seems right, just sounds like you need another impulse (and maybe play a few more takes ;) ) Have you tried it with a cab and a poweramp? BTW there is a mod for an old ADA-mp1 on adadepot.com that is called mod 3.666 check it out and see what they do with the tone section since the mod is a clone of the preamp section of the dual rec.

Here is a direct link for the mod: http://adadepot.com/adagear/detailled/ADA-MP-1/mods/mod3666.htm
