Can't make up my mind either. It surely isn't as overtly "epic" as the older album covers. Still is very dragon-y so it's standard fare for them.

didn't the band say they hated their last label (Magic Circle)? that last two albums were garbage IMO, but it wasn't until i read the press release for signing to NB that it made sense. i expect this album to pick up where Power Of The Dragonflame left off.

I'd rate Symphony of Enchanted Lands through Power of the Dragonflame all about equally. the first album was great in its way, but didn't have the budget of subsequent albums so they didn't get that full majesty that they would later get. Of course, when I first bought Legendary Tales it was awesome compared to what was available at the time.

The last two albums are okay. The epicness is still there, but the songs meander more. Rhapsody didn't just get rid of the speed, they got rid of the melodies too. Although there are still some highlights on the last two.

If this is a return to their faster, more direct days, it will rule.

If you don't have their stuff by now, just go and get the TALES FROM THE EMERALD SWORD SAGA collection. It's all you really need to be caught up on the classics.

I like some Rhapsody, but I've never been a big fan of Fabio Leone's vox. Luca should dump him and make Olaf Hayer his vocalist of choice...or perhaps that's because I'm more anxious to hear the next Luca Turilli solo album
