Some good stuff on that cd, and a snip at £9.99. It is stuff that I already have, but it's good to have it on one collection. And like you say midnightrider, it's a great introduction for any new fan.

I think the reason that release hasn't been mention on this website (or indeed on Blabbermouth) is because the release isn't anything to do with the band, it is just an old record label cashing in.

SPV/Steamhammer has set a March 5 European release date for the new album from SAXON, entitled "The Inner Sanctum". A single, entitled "If I Was You", will precede the full-length CD.

Byford previously stated about the "If I Was You" track, "I wrote the lyrics based on gun and knife crime having seen so many tragic stories of somebody getting knifed to death for a mobile phone and three quid or some young mother caught in the crossfire between two idiots with guns. 'If I was you and you were me, would you live your life differently?'"

As previously reported, Byford was interviewed by Spanish TV on the set of the movie "Perceval", in which he has a role. Watch the interview at YouTube.com (Biff appears around the 1:55 mark).

U.K. newspaper Lincolnshire Echo last fall published an article about SAXON's secret gig which took place October 27 at Bivouac club in Lincoln, England. The gig was filmed by London-based Ten Alps Telvision for a series which follows the ups and downs of various music venues. Check out a scan of the article at this location.

Steamhammer/SPV released SAXON's live album, "The Eagle Has Landed Pt. III", in the U.S. on June 27, 2006. The collection features the first new recordings with drummer Nigel Glockler, who returned to the SAXON fold following an extended creative break.

Well, Red Alert is on the Destiny album.

The other songs are B sides, and i have all of them, except for got another thing coming, and chase the fade which is an instrumental. i beleve it was the B side to waiting for the night single????

On the HMV website they are indicating a single cd for that price???

I didn't notice that, and I just ordered it yesterday as well! I had it ordered on Play.com for £9.99, and that clearly states it is a 3 disc set, but I cancelled it. I thought it a bit odd, because not many places are cheaper than Play.com. And HMV are normally very expensive, so £7.99 for 1 disc is more up their street. But as far as I know it is just being released as 3 discs, so it might just be a mistake on the HMV website. I bloody hope so!

Anyone notice that the Saxon logo is missing the top spike on the "S". Whoops!

What a load of cheap shit.I would rather buy something by a new band, than encourage more of kind of crap to be issued. Most of the time its all the shops stock.
Look at the Priest reissues all fantasic.Saxon need to be treated wiyh the same respect!
