new Sentenced

I got it a few days after it was released and liked what I heard. To me it's mix between Down and their previous album Crimson. After listening to the album 10 or so many times you feel they are all based on the same song structure but I do like Ville Laihiala's voice and Tenkula's guitar playing.

Overall nothing ground-breaking but good in my opinion.

Bands in their style that have original song structures are weird animals. You know is sad how some of you dont know how to listen to music and want to judge bands that are about pure sentimentality the same way you would judge prog bands, is just stupid

I gave it a listen and didn't feel it would get much playing time due to the overwhelming amount of better music that I already own.

In case some of you haven't noticed, the lyrics on 'Excuse me while I kill myself' are sarcastic and self-criticizing and on 'Neverlasting' and 'Luxury of a Grave' exaggerated. Sentenced have been dying by their own hands in their songs for so long that they are starting to make jokes about it. I myself try to concentrate on songs like 'Aika Multaa Muistot', 'No one There' and especially 'Guilt and Regret'. They are not like the classics such as 'Moonmagic', 'Forever Lost' or 'I'll Throw The First Rock', but I like them in a different way that is not less passionate...

I didnt thought they needed poetic lyrics that wasnt my point. Crude lyrics are good to express crude feelings. Not everyone needs to write a 10 page poem to say hell i just wanna blow my brains unto the wall. It might be not for everyone but it seems honest and straight foward, i like that in simple straight forward depressed music. Shure sometimes is nice to have some little artistic vision but a lot of bands to them are just whinning for hours saying crap about the starts and the seas and the dark and whatever, just give me a short concrete song with raw concrete lyrics.

Simplicity ( both in music and lyrics ) is a lost art today...

You´re right.
