New Song Wagner/Slate/Ezdrummer

Damn nice sounding mix! I think theres a little too much reverb on the snare and the overheads are a little loud. Toms could use a little more beef, maybe some compression. Guitars sound ace, ESPECIALLY the acoustic. Good job man

Im nitpicking now, but you forgot a cymbal or two at 0:15, which is really need to welcome the acoustics that come after that... 0:38 needs cymbals, etc.

Beside, the dude said it all, the rest of it sounds good man, nice drum sound as well, especially that snare.

Thanks! You guys rock! I've learnt more here than any school could ever teach!

So I messed with the mix buss a lil bit, i still have compression waves api, then gclip, gclip, psp xenon. But I need your guys help to let me know if it is still pumping, i don't hear it as much anymore??

I also turned down the instruments before hitting the mix buss compressor. I'm still a noobie, so this might be stooopid question, but if the volume from the tracks is coming in too high to the mix compressor would that make it distort and pump compared to higher volume tracks. It seems like that just by bringing the faders down on the individual tracks that my mix wasnt pumping as much??

oh i also eq'd the guitars to make them a little brighter, does it sound better?

Thanks guys :kickass:!!

Acoustics - are real - miked with a at3035 at the 12th-15th fret and used a sm57 a little further back both sent to urs channel pro (eq'd and compressed)

Drum samples - Ezdrummer for the cymbals and room, slate is replacing the kick and snare 100% ...kick is 11 and snare is 7 i believe with z4 going on both sent to voxengo tape and then gclip

I'm still trying to figure out the master (mix) buss...at what dbfs should the signal becoming in to the mix buss I think I might be coming in too high if its pumping...because my compressor settings are waves ssl comp. Attack .3, .1 sec release, 2:1 ratio threshold getting maximum 4db gain
