What's the verdict?
I downloaded it and listened to it this morning.

It is solid, but nothing new or groundbreaking for them.
It's Strato-by-numbers at this point.

It is probably 50 / 50 up tempo VS slow numbers.

Definitely still worth it for long time fans.

I guess I was hoping for a bit more.

It sounds like every other Stratovarius disc. I think the band missed their chance to evolve a bit when Timo T. left.

See, I actually thought they did evolve a bit with Polaris.
The songs had a darker feel, while still retaining their core sound.

The fast songs on the new one seem like Tolkki are playing the leads himself.

The slower songs simply sound uninspired.

I am just waiting for this future BLABBERMOUTH headline:
"Timo Tolkki accuses former band members of stealing his solos"

"Timo Tolkki accuses former band members of stealing his solos"

He could never do this because Timo's tone is so thin, and he's a little choppy, and and Matias is very smooth, with nicer fuller tone. to me anyway

Love the new disc, my favorite Strato album in a long time. I feel like they've finally made it back to the style and quality of their "classic" stuff. The epic is my favorite Strato song since "Infinity" I think.
