personally (and some of you are prob gona be like wtf mate) but i prefer to use studio devil (guitar version) on bass guitars. i must say its the best dam distortion i've ever found for a bass d.i.

nah man, i can see it working, havent tried studio devil, but i did the exact same thing with guitar rig

From what I have red so far it just seems to be the old amps + cab convolution and some effects.

It's available. I have tested the demo with some DI's from this forum and I can't see any improvement in comparison with other vst's.
Anyway, I have to test at home.
The impulse loader sounds clearly different to any other loader. Perhaps better?

Hmm looks a little ghastly, but if it's something new to use for bass grit it may be worth looking into.

@mick: Is the bass version at least a viable alternative to Ampeg SVX, where you can use it to sculpt the overall curve of the bass, rather than apply grit?

well personally i've always used it for bass just to add dirt to my signal. i normally eq everything at 12 because i feel it doesn't add much dynamics after that, i use a 31 band afterwards to kick up what frequencies are needed afterwards and to remove the almost sub sonic freq's to clean it up.

i never tried ik's attempt at bass modeling. i always process from di and sometimes mic - split it, comp it, dirt it, impulse it and eq it - i never tried ik's all in one bass package

This thing actually doesn't sound half bad boosted w/SoloC using the Rectified amp model and Catharsis IR's!

Kind of a cool sound. Very Djenty. Would sound pretty cool blended w/8505 me thinks.

This thing is REALLY fucking scooped sounding though!
