New Stuff | Amplitube Metal + Sd2.0 + Ruby + synths

It sounds like instead of boosting the nice fizzy high frequencies to add presence, you've boosted the cock out of the fatiguing high mids around 2-3 khz.

I could be wrong though. Wait for someone more knowledgeable to give their opinion. I agree something sounds a bit off though.

i wanted the guitars to sound very high gain-ish (though i've used rather low gain, maybe it's the saturation after it...) and dark... maybe that's it and it's not fitting the style of the song? and i WANTED to make them sound hollow, even taking care of killing the harmonics i didn't want... maybe it's a bit overdone? thanks for the comment

actually i always kill 2k on guitars, beyond 2k maybe i have some problems and i can't seem to get rid of the scratchiness of that area without losing everything about the guitars. These guitars don't have any high end at all, tracks were hp @ 7k, thanks for the comment, i'll re-check that area, or get rid of the fucking guitars and start over. I'm a guitarist, and thanks to this forum, i hate guitars now! :D

Why the hell would I do that? I own it and tried hard to like it, but the tone just isn't there. Digital fizziness all over. If you feel it's up to par, more power to you. I'm just trying to help by advising you to spend time with better amp sims.

Awesome dude, "Amplitube Metal sucks.", to me, you're stating it's a bad ampsim, and you're mad at it. This is a thread inside "rate my mix/tone" subforum, not "rate my ampsim", that's 2 different things, there's a lot of people using amplitube getting awesome tones, it's not about the ampsim, i'm trying to level up my mixing skills, i love lepou's and onqel's simulations more than anything in the world, and i've gotten decent tones out of them (and heard incredible ones here in the forum too) BUT, i just fucking wanted to fuck around with it, since it's an expensive thing for me, and i've heard good stuff from it.

So, bad ampsim? go bitch IKMultimedia, or gimme some amazing mixing tips, or Joey's TACT secret.

RandomOne: Thanks, i've used it, it's a beast, like a beast i can't really control haha. I'll try some other sims maybe, thanks for the input!

Sounds good.
The only thing I can think of to improve it is to see how your amp presets sound in AmpliTube 3 with 3D dual mic placement and room mics on them.

You're basically saying you want to use it because it was expensive to you.

'It's not about the amp sim'?

Whatever.

IK Multimedia doesn't rely on just schematics or use off-the-shelf algorithms to model our gear like most other developers do. We actually acquire all of the gear we are modeling, most of it vintage and highly collectible, and take extensive measurements of the entire signal path. Our models are dynamic, and accurately reflect the non-linear response of these amps. We call this technique Dynamic Saturation Modeling. And our 3D cab miking uses our exclusive Volumetric Response Modeling technology, which gives you the ability to grab either of the mics and move it anywhere within the 3D field in front of the cab. When combined together in AmpliTube 3, DSM and VRM are going to give you the most accurate digital recreation of the complete amp recording process. All you need to bring is a guitar and some skills.

In my opinion, Amplitube 3 cab simulation sounds worst than any impulse you can find in the web. When developers improve cab simulation, even a fart will sound good through amplitube speakers.

I'm basically saying RATE MY FUCKING MIX! cut the bullshit about the amps! i prefer working on my skills and gear man. That's where i need to get better, i've got enough sims.

@Brian: i'll give that a try, definately, right now i've changed the song so bad it's almost all clean guitars haha =] , i'm getting a new axe soon too, as RandomOne said the pickups play a big part, and mine's right now are definately NOT the best out there...

Thanks everyone for the input! next song, will definately be played with the new axe, i'm starting to hate my old fart guitar... :tickled:

reg3n, you just gotta just do your thing and know that people with discriminating taste and an ear for tone will appreciate what you do.
That's our attitude at IK Multimedia.
FF666, that's a fine looking Peavey you have there... :)

guitars sounds horrible, and to loud compared to the rest. Use some of the free amp sims and you get 100 times better results (or atleast should be able to)

I think this is the best proof i suck at dialing tones http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/rate-my-mix-tone-threads/666671-most-produced-breakdown-ever.html and that Amplitube is NOT the fucking problem. Unless everyone outthere using Amplitube is lying about gear, i'm not an IK fan or nothing, i just go back to the point where i wanted fresh ears to rate my mix, thanks for all the opinions, after a few days of rest i've figured it's not even close to the tone i had in my mind, and i actually like to read 'THAT TONE SUCKS!', otherwise i don't know how i'm gonna get things to sound better, i got rid of tons of shit in the axes chains and actually sounds 10x better, but i'm saving that for a new song :)

+1 Brian!

Thanks =)
