kinda ran through this thread and just noticed a lot of bickering so i power read through some of it and i think SS is pretty cool. not really my cup of tea but they seem to be doing something right.

that being said i was at machines studio for some of the recording and he was into making this as heavy as he could while not making it sound like a typical metal mix. that's his usual philosophy with metal bands. they did the usual separate drum technique. either way it came out cool i think. think they used 2ch triples for guitars but he said he was gonna reamp probably with mesas later.

i dig machines philosophy on metal recording, got a lot of respect for the guy.
even if his external appearance is that of a collosal douchebag, he knows his shit

dont like the band but the production is great. I've only heard "ashes of the wake" and "sacrament" from machine's long resume but both of those have amazing productions and they both were produced amazingly well too.
