New to Anthrax

Start from the beginning... which is "Fistful Of Metal", and follow the progress through 80s and especially 90s, when Anthrax really stood out with three amazing albums and then jump to "We've Come For You All"... Incredible journey, I wish I were you...

Man, what it would feel like to be in your shoes right now, and hearing this stuff for the first time all over again. I envy what you're about to hear. Welcome to the board.

In this order:

(1) Volume 8: The best album that nobody has heard

(2) Sound of White Noise: The second best heavy metal album ever, after Volume 8

(3) Stomp 442: Whenever you need your ass kicked from beginning to end

(4) The Greater of Two Evils: A collection of great tunes, recorded "live in the studio" and ending up better than any of the originals

Among the Living or Sound of White Noise.

The best 2 records with respective singers (sorry Turbin lovers, no dice!)

Just about any Anthrax album would be a good starting point, other than I'm The Man or Attack Of The Killer B's. They're cool, but don't really represent what Anthrax is all about. Personally, I would start at the beginning with Fistfull of Metal and try to get them all.

Whoa, i just posted a similar thread over on the COB site.
Im hugely biased towards the John Bush era of Anthax so id have to say essential purchases would be Sound of White Noise and WCFYA. However the Joey albums Among the Living and Persistence of Time are very good as well.
Have fun and dont be a stranger, ye hear.

I'd get Return of the Killer B's. It's a greatest hits compilation and has both Bush and Joey era stuff. That way you can decide what you like best.

I think you might mean Return Of The Killer A's...good suggestion though!:kickass:

Persistence of Time would be a good one to hear for a first time Anthrax experience.

Dunno about any of you guy's, but I am really hanging out for a new Anthrax album ...
