not on the mixbus.
settings I've been using so far were:
Metal: 30ms atk, .1 rel, 2:1
I used to have the waves API2500 on that one first...loved it, but the C2 is way better..more punch and more glue
Alt-Pop-Acoustic: 1ms atk, auto rel, 1.5:1
both in dual-mono
I can imagine using the crush on vocals or so during mixdown or so, but not on the 2bus
How come you have the attack so much longer on the metal track than on the alt-pop Acoustic? For the sake of punchiness?
well, dunno.... the mix was totally different and requested it.
it was way less drum-oriented but needed way more thickness and glue.
on top of that it was rather unbalanced and I had to fix some things - those times worked surprisingly well, the comp had to fulfill a completely different task than on the punchier metal-mix
on the metalmix I just wanted to add some gel and increase the punch
