I'm looking for some new music to listen to from some bands that I haven't heard before. I'm a older fucker, so I'm kind of set in my ways a little...:Smokin:

Gimmie some recommendations on some new tunes. I don't like anything with cookie monster vocals though, so leave those kinds of bands out.

I suggest finnish heavy metal band Tarot. They are really underrated but they have done great records like Spell Of Iron (1986) and Follow Me Into Madness (1988). Suffer Our Pleasures is also very good. You can listen some of their songs here http://www.wingsofdarkness.net/sounds.htm

You said you liked old stuff and Dio...then you must have Rainbow Rising...if you don't, it's an absolute must...a true masterpiece!

Evergrey's Recreation Day is a really good album...but I don't really dig anything else I've heard...Nevermore's Enemies of Reality is good too, but I'm not crazy about their other stuff. Arch Enemy's Stigmata and Burning Bridges are outstanding releases...lots of people complain about the vocals...they don't bother me.

I have a hard time warming up to a lot of new stuff. I still find myself buying old stuff I never had, or replacing vinyl.
