I was wondering what Dan's opinion is regarding the the new Novembre release "Dreams d'Azur". It's a re-recording of their first album "Wish I Could Dream it Again" which Dan engineered at Unisound back in 1994/1995 .

An mp3 of the first track from the new can be found in the mp3 section here: http://www.centurymedia.de

and the original can be found on Novembre's mp3.com site (if you want to compare)

The new one sounds a bit fuller with some weird bass flourishes, but on the whole, it's pretty similar.

Oh yeah, you can download Novembre's first two albums (both of which Dan recorded) at the mp3.com site.

I love it. It sounds alot better to me. But I wouldn't say it was the result of a new studio and engineer. They're just simply playing alot better individually and the singer has gotten alot better. Of course technology helps ;)

man... i was expecting something else.
some new fresh perspective or interpretation.
but this pretty much sounds the same, no?

Question is, WHY re-record it? Why not just release a double CD with the first two albums, re-mastered, for single CD price... you'd figure they probably sell more than they will now (what, 5 people bought the Polyphemus editions, ha ha ha, including me?) and the label would make more than footing the bill for a re-recording.

*shrug*

I still don't understand this business.

well, i have now had the chance to listen to the entire
record.... must say i should have bit my lip a little longer.
i enjoyed this much more than Wish....

Still dying for new material!!
