Bah I don't get why 2k bought the rights to turn a strategy game into a shooter.....
Seriously it looks amazing, but it has nothing to do with the original stuff
Lets wait and see a bit,
Being a big xcom fan and a big 2K/bioshock fan I so far have faith that this will turn out to be a awesome game.
I don't mind the story being different (well not like the old games had a very deep original story anyway).
BUT I will be disappointed if they don't use familiar designs from the old games.
This will be a shooter for sure.
I have to search the web, but I guess it will be just a fucking shooter.
I think it will be really good one, but a modern strategy game would have been better. you know just to be in the same vein of the old shit.

Oh yeah it will be definitely a FPS.
What I meant is, I will be disappointed if im not gonna see Snakemen, Mutons and the dreaded Chryssalids (those could really bring some FFFFUUUU moments).
So basically I want to play the old UFO only this time seeing the universe through the eyes of a soldier/random man (judging from the video it seems like it happens pre-xcom).
While a good strategy remake could be fucking awesome im kinda glad they decided to try something new instead of just doing another strategy game (everything after Terror from the deep was kinda fail IMHO ).
It depends on how 2k handle it. I wasn't into the original X-Com games, but I completely appreciate why people are so skeptical about this new one.
The way I see it, they either go philosophical, ideological nightmare ala the first Bioshock and it ends up FUCKING INCREDIBLE as its own piece or it ends up middling and average.
Guess it basically hangs on whether Ken Lavigne's involved.
