Newbie mix, any tips, suggestions, insults? :)

I'm mixing a band's EP which was recorded on a home studio. I don't know anything about the mics, amps, instruments, etc that were used during the recording process. I just received the tracks and tryied to get the best out of them. I need help and suggestions so I would be really pleased if I receive them!
