Nowadays you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. Ok, maybe 2 or 3 bullets was too many - a single bullet to the leg might have been enough to get him to cooperate. Regardless, if they did nothing and he had a bomb, everyone would point fingers and wonder why the air marshalls did nothing. Since they did do something though, I wouldn't be surprised if they get sued. Personally, I'm glad they shot him. Do I wish he died? Not really, especially if he was bipolar, but unfortunately shit happens.

Thats almost correct, When some dick wad who didnt take his pills yells "I have a bomb" and doesnt comply with my orders. You better believe he's getting poped. We live in some scary times and I'm glad the marshall had the fortitude to take action.

1. Yeah, fuck that guy. He was clearly an idiot, no loss anyway. I don't think killing people is cool, but, he had it coming to him. You don't scare 200 people at an airport and then disobey an order from a US Marshall and THEN suddenly reach into your bag/pocket without some sort of consequence. I doubt the Marshall "tried" to kill him anyway. A gunshot can go either way, that guy was doing his job. No complaint here.
