my friend has a pit bull. when he got robbed the dog hid under the bed. big time fighter right there. i'm sure it's slightly genetic but also personality too. people used to give this reputation to german sheps and dobermans also when they were popular. believe it or not, a chow chow is more likely to attack a child than a pit bull. but pit bulls can still be scary. if i had a child i'd get a friggin pomeranian and cure the problem. or a big dopey lab.

I see a vicious pom on my walk to work every day. she totally would try to bite my ankles if she had a chance - damn thing is mean.

basically, it's like this: mutts > purebreds when it comes to health and temperment. I blame the AKC for a lot of the problems.
