if you use the pod only for effects (like delay, modulation, distortion pedal emulations etc, no amp or cab sim), then you might consider using it, otherwise no.
only kidding! They are pre amp sims, impulses are power amp+cab sims.
Pods have got both pre amp and poweramp/cab sims.
So yeah they are an alternative to using Pods.
anyway i tried using nc in reaper with boogex and the s-preshigh impulse but it sounds really fizzy - like the impulse hasnt really been applied... basically it sounds like its just the pre-amp sim on its own... anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
im using my pod as the interface for the guitar but ive got 'no amp' and 'no cabinet' selected so that it should bypass..
I'm not familiar with boogex- I use Kefir and Sir for my impulse needs but I'd check for any dry/wet or mix knobs that might be activated, mixing the dry with the impluse affected tone. Boogex has a load of knobs extra since it is in itself a full amp simulator so check to make sure you've got all their own amp stuff de activated also.
You may wanna try Sir you've only got a dry and wet to deal with- simply by clicking the bottom of the dry section you de activate it and bam, only the signal affected by the impulse is heard. You can use it for reverbs and any other impulse stuff too!
cheers bro! will let you know how it goes later...i'm having a hella lot of issues with my saffirepro atm keeps cutting out and I can't record properly
