Despite the fact that they've been steadily losing creative steam since Visions (especially the last two albums, which boarder on (and often cross over to) self parodying), And that Tolkki had recently fired not only a great drummer, but an amazing singer/songwriter (even tho that last quality was stiffled in Strato). As if the situation with Stratovarius couldn't get any worse, Tolkki pulls down his pants and farts in its face:

Something tells me the next Stratovarius will be Hymn to Life part 2.

Something tells me Kotipelto's 2nd solo disc will kick its ass.

A female singer eh? Very interesting...the pics were, um....weird. It certainly is not STRATOVARIUS anymore, imo. I totally agree in that Kotipelto's album will completely own the new Strato. And judging by the other news on that page, its seems that Tolkki enjoys causing trouble for his band...

Am I the only one willing to give her a shot? I mean, yeah it's not the same Strato anymore, that can't be contested. But if this woman has the talent to pull it off, I say at least give her the chance. Maybe I'm just nuts.

Holy shit, dude!

BTW dudes, I don't think T. K.'s first solo album was THAT good, anyway - just another Visions ripoff IMHO.

Oh, and am I the only one who thinks "PopKiller" is a wierd album name for a true/power metalband? We don't turn ANY attention to pop, remember?

I personally hate Kotipelto's voice, so I welcome any change. But I've never heard her sing, so I can't really comment too much on her.

I'm glad he got Anders on drums, cause he's just a great drummer. Cool to see the Johansson brothers back together again.

I was really hoping for Michael Kiske on vocals, or someone like Olaf Hayer from Luca Turilli's band, cause he's got an awesome voice.

I agree with you, Yngvai X; Strato got less and less creative, now only re-using their formula over and over. For entertainment purpose though, I'm curious to see where this new line-up will lead them.

I thought it was more ironic than anything, given that many of Stratovarius songs are essentially pop when stripped of the neoclassical elements...but the only thing Timo has been good for is entertainment value.

Okay now Tolkki can suck my fucking dick off. I thought Strato couldn't possibly get any worse, shit was I wrong... Fucking moron...

True, you should check out the forums (and some of the news) at their site and see him rip on his own fans. :err:
