No one updates the Jewdays around here...

You're absolutely right!!!!!!!!

I'm not going to go into, yet another, food conversation here,
but there is a reason why I only buy 'free range organic' and why I barely eat meat...

anyhoo... back to the 'we don't care what jewish holiday it is today'

Give me a break. If it makes you feel better and justify that you are consuming an animal for your own indulgence, then fine. Why don't you just become a vegeterian. Even the most humane slaughter houses are repulsing to the average person. Everyone wants their meat pre-packaged, stamped 'organic free range', and have a light conscience about the whole process.

To be completely honest, I really don't care in the slightest how the animals I eat are treated. Whatever gets that shit to my stomach more quickly and cheapily, is okay with me! In all seriousness, I've always been a humanist, The Species-first kind of guy. Animals take advantage of each other. We don't have claws or the ability to see food from a mile away in order to get food more efficiently, instead we have our brains that give us the ability to design awesome food factories that pack them critters into as little space as possible, etc.

And that makes you a complete ignorant asshole! (just kidding, don't take me TOO seriously).

At least you could acknowledge that animals (especially mamimals) are sentient living creatures with a central nervous system and a brain.

I eat meat 2-3 times a month, mainly from local farms/ free range
and yes you're right- i see why it's stupid because the animal is still being killed at the end and I eat it right?
But see, I don't see anything wrong with eating meat,
But I see everything wrong with the way mass-produced meat farms keep their animals: cluttered, sick, poor diet, miserable, abused...
Don't forget; it has a huge effect on the quality of meat you're putting in your mouth at the end of the day.
I believe free-range/ organic/ grass fed is not only much better for me,
but I also believe that even if a chicken will eventually end up on my plate,
at least it had good life.

I don't think that classifies as sentience. They're still bound by instinct and their own natural environment. A computer effectively has the same components, but one wouldn't consider my awesome game platform sentient.

But even if it did, viva la humano!

Animal rights is one of those topics I have mixed feelings about. On the one hand I flat out deny the existence of natural rights of any kind. On the other hand, domestic animals are in large part man made, and a such we bear both total power over them and total responsibility for them. I find it unpleasant to watch or cause suffering to animals, but I am at a loss to find a rational basis to support ethical treatment of animals.

That's good and all, but your body still needs energy, especially to break down fats. I think the best way to "cleanse" your body is to stop eating foods, but drink certain health shakes (or whatever they're called).

Your body has plenty of stored energy. Your body also feels pretty amazing after fasting as well, you should try it some time. I normally fast every month or two for 2-5 days or so. Also, with certain types of illness, fasting can be beneficial towards speeding up your recovery. "Certain health shakes" are for the most part, a complete crock.
