I'm Running a Great River 1NV w/ SM7b. Im finding a touch of hiss/noise when i get my preamp high enough to push the mic. Is buying really expensive cables going to make the difference? I use mid grade cable now in the chain. Past experience is that anytime I paid way more for a cable I saw very little/no improvement to a mid grade cable. A great example is, when im applying 50db of gain the mic is a touch low for tracking softer vocals. When I click up to 55db its perfect tracking level but a fair amount of background noise is heard. I'm recording a small treated vocal booth. Dead as hell in there. Is a bit of noise normal? Any suggestions would be awesome. Thanks Everyone \m/
