ok my tone control is making everything really noisy. whenever i turn it up its really noisy but when i turn it down it goes away. also somtimes whenever im turning the knob i hear a crackling noise. should i just replace the tone pot or clean it out?

Well try cleaning it first before you get rid of it. That should at least get rid of the "crackling"
oh also should i just get a noise supressor for recording all the high gain stuff? and which noise supressor should i get?

Contact cleaner should do the trick for crackly pots. A poor man's version is consumer isopropyl alcohol but be careful not to get it on the paint finish.

yeah i found some isp decimators on craigslist for about 80-100 bucks. seemed pretty simple. only had one knob which i like for stuff like that. just waiting on a response from any of them.
