I want a nostril done but not the piece of fat in the middle, whatever it's called. Anyway, is there any significance to which side is pierced, like having only a right ear pierced is supposed to mean you're gay? Also, I can get it very cheaply done, but that is with a gun. But I have heard that guns are possibly detrimental to tissue and possibly leave bad scarring. Information please. :goggly:

guns = bad, get it done with a needle. pretty sure theres no right/left symbology, i had my right done a few years ago but had to take it out for work. ive been thinkin bout gettin it back since new boss doesnt care, and i thought it looked pretty cool on me.

A real man doesn't need piercings to look bad ass.
I'd teach you, but quite frankly, you aren't worthy.

I can see it now, me with a nose ring. Ok you, but damn close to me with one.

The name for it is: Nasal Septum.
a "gun" is an old system mainly good for lower ears and the side of the nose.
the down side of the "gun" is that it leaves a scar
while with a needle or as we call it "piercing" most likely it will not leave a scar.
I had a nasal septum before (I wish I had scanned pictures.. it was before
I got my digital camera)
and its great! It didn't hurt as much as my other piercings, and it healed pretty fast!
do it!

I have one for more than 10 years already, left side of my nose.
I have no trouble with it, didn't hurt and it's not hard to keep the piercing clean. I always bend the pin a bit inwards, i don't want the knob to fly out when i have to sneeze and i certainly don't like a new piercing inside my nose, may i ever bump my nose or get punched in the face.
First week it will be swollen and it'll feel a bit sour.
Within 4 to 6 weeks it'll be healed, also depends on how healthy you live,
if you put more through your nose than just air,
if you cannot stop fidgeting and keep playing with your piercing(s) before the wound is healed.
After it's healed, you may consider wearing something different than the knob you got.
If you have a decent piercer, he will use surgical/ stainless steel for the piercing.
What do you want to wear eventually and which material? Gold, silver, titanium, etc. A hoop, a knob, both?
And may you work with retards, psycho's and/or with machinery, i say: NO HOOPS!

Personally, I like it better on a guy when he has done his nose both sides
or has more than one piercing on the same side.
And besides, do you really care about what will be said about which side you have pierced your nose?
If you choose left, there's a story to tell about right and vice versa.
So, whatever side you choose, make it your own choice
and let the remarks pass the other side of your nose.
Enjoy.

When I was 14 years old I made my nostril piercing by myself, with an ice cube and a hot needle....yes, really stupid, I know, but it healed quickly and I never had any trouble with it (except for the trouble with my parents at that time, hehe!) The little hole has survived until today, when I´m 27, and I could still wear a ring in it, but I prefer my septum piercing.

Anyway, everything else has already been said, rather get it done with a needle than with a gun. And like Karen and Perniciosa I also think septum piercings look better on guys than the side ;-)

I like this post. People already have told me I would look gay with a nose piercing, but I don't really give a shit, especially when people on the internet write it. Say, did you get it done with a gun or a needle?
